October

October 2013

October begins beside September, with velvet black nights, bonny cosmos and giggling marigolds, dropping acorns, and changing all her leaves to gold...

With a gentle, coying smile, she dances into harvest time, with rolly, orange pumpkins, like havest moons, swollen up from the Earth, while the last of summer's children awaken from their coccoony slumber and lift gossimer wings upon October's misty mornings ...

The ravens cry at purple twilight, and with her final breath, October's sigh does part The Veil between the Living and the Dead. Quietly, she'll lean into November's boney arms, as Hallow'een night gives way to dawn...

And so she'll sleep, sleep and dream of marigolds and harvest fields, and graveyards bathed in golden leaves, and with each passing day, October waits to wake, and to begin her dance once more!

Not only is your drawing beautiful, your writing is so poetic, too! You are my idol, Bonnie!

Love the beautiful poem of October. It matches the glory of you painting. Both stirred my soul today. Thank you.

A pretty painting and a wonderful prosem. I love Bonnie-isms: "bonny cosmos," "rolly, orange pumpkins," "coccoony slumber." You paint with paints and you paint with words, you paint with heart and mind.
